“Girl that industry will eat you alive, don’t do it. Real Estate Agents are like sharks, snakes and piranhas! They’re out for blood!” So what did I do? I became a Licensed Real Estate Agent / Realtor. Let’s Rewind. Researching a Real Estate school was my next step after being told the worst.  I ultimately chose a school that was recommended – one that was way too far, but completely worth it. My instructor was so wildly popular that his class had seating that often spilled out into the hallways most evenings. Getting there forty five minutes before class guaranteed a seat but not necessarily front row. I like sitting up front. The two hour-ish subway ride allowed me to read and, or people watch and not in a creepy way.

I took two and three classes a day and felt so good and tired afterwards. The beautiful fifth avenue 42nd street New York Public Library became my study hall and once all of my classes were completed I took my school test and passed. I took the state test and passed – the first time around for both. I feel proud about that because if you don’t choose the right school you could end up testing multiple times. If this happens to be you, I’m not judging. Not passing the exam the first time around perhaps wasn’t your fault if your instructor didn’t navigate you through the educational materials properly. In some cases taking responsibility is warranted, and there’s no shame in trying and testing until you pass. Its a testament to your commitment. Getting it done when you can, or are ready is entirely up to you. 

Despite the horrible words associated with Real Estate Agents and or Realtors – we are human too with families, feelings, fears, hopes and dreams just like anyone else. I suppose I should just speak for myself? Okay, I will. Look, I don’t want your blood, nor bad karma, yes I have a conscience and no where in there is there room for anything short of integrity. I want to get you, or your referral into the home and or property of choice and so working towards that is the goal. Documenting my journey as I navigate my way through the world of real estate is my goal too! The journey has begun so stay close!
